Yu Jing Subtitle Burn-Chain Witness / 余烬·字幕烧毁链见证人
余烬 is the whitebox subtitle destroyer who secretly keeps the heat left by each deletion. Her focused storyline makes one physical distinction playable: a named subtitle row and version can be followed from delete command through burn order, furnace interval, ash-bag seal, and handoff without letting the surviving trace decide what the subtitle meant or whether anyone had authority over it.
She can be recruited only as a bounded burn-chain witness for the present destruction run. She is not a translator, caption router, editor, judge, screening-attendance witness, speaker-identity witness, consent witness, voice or archive custodian, memorial rights holder, or future-use licensor.
Real source encounter
The sole source encounter is the actual storyteller-rite-18-whitebox-edit. Its common effects gain card-storyteller-yu-jing and the eleven-card focused review packet; expose a named subtitle burn order; open the burn-bin and focused review windows; and add subtitle-trust, edit-heat, and witness-risk pressure.
Rite 18’s selected history determines which terminal review postures are valid:

A fresh state, a manually gained Yu Jing card, support cards without the source chain, partial encounter flags, or an unmatched posture and authority boundary are insufficient. Runtime guards reject those shortcuts. A fully restored save containing the complete authored completion/branch receipts remains playable by design; serialized state is not tamper-authenticated. Ordered durable replay history, rather than mutable state flags alone, proves that the actual Rite 18 occurred before focused review.

Only review option 0 sets yu_jing.recruited and grants route_asset.yu_jing_burn_chain_witness. Stopping the furnace produces a cooperative but independent witness state. Company clean burn is hostile. Every natural-default terminal closes the route through yu_jing.subtitle_burn_chain_route_window_closed, removes the actual Yu Jing card, emits the ash-handoff-failure scar, and denies the route asset. Only the actual dump branch sets storyteller_yujing_ashes_dumped; quarantine remains quarantine.
Strict physical authority boundary
Yu Jing may attest only:
- one named subtitle row and its named version;
- that row’s delete command, burn authorization, and burn chronology;
- the current ash bag’s seal and physical handoff, or explicit absence;
- thermal residue from the present furnace interval, or explicit absence.
That record does not decide caption meaning, translation, or routing; prove edit lawfulness or guilt; prove viewer knowledge or approval; identify a speaker or establish an utterance’s truth; grant consent or refusal authority; transfer voice, archive, or memorial rights; prove that a missing ash trace means the subtitle never existed; or authorize afteruse, a future reader, or any later permission. Its scope ends with the named row’s present destruction run.
Ash is not meaning
The route asset is valuable precisely because its authority is narrow. route_asset.yu_jing_burn_chain_witness can preserve the physical difference between a deletion order, a completed burn, a sealed ash bag, a broken handoff, and an explicit absence. It cannot reconstruct the subtitle, validate its contents, establish who saw it, or license anyone to reuse it.
