The line opens when an orchestra manager tries to reuse the old P2 tag as clean authority for a later sponsor pit recap after the rack map and responsible steward have changed. The stale tag can still prove one historical rack assignment. It cannot silently become current equipment identity, current cue scheduling, performer consent, pit safety, sponsor permission, or broadcast authority.

Beat 2 — Intermission changes the rack
Mutes are returned, substituted, or moved after intermission. The row now exposes rack map rack-map.P2-mixed-mute.v2, current steward pit_deck_steward_after_intermission, and cue schedule cue.schedule.P2-post-intermission; none may be silently inferred from the old tag. The displaced violist note shows why a mapping error is not merely clerical: an unlogged rack reassignment can deny the named player access to the mute required by the later cue and distort the recap evidence.
Beat 3 — A future reader enlarges the claim
The sponsor recap asks to treat the old tag as proof that the present rack is clean, the correct mute served the later cue, the current steward approved the handoff, and the route may publish the pit account. The request turns a true historical label into a false current authority claim.
Beat 4 — Review separates the authorities

A replay that stops while the default event is unresolved demonstrates reachability only; it does not satisfy this storyline’s durable-afteruse promise.
