Prop Table Wax Seal Afteruse Receipt

The W9 rain-scene hero prop entered the prop table in a wax-sealed case. The first impression, object ID, and lender counterseal named one physical original. During a dark scene change the seal fractured, the case opened, and a visually identical replica could have replaced the original. Someone later reflowed the fragments and pressed the stamp again. The repaired seal looks intact in a sponsor close-up, but its heat layers and mismatched fracture edges preserve a different chronology.

The playable pressure is not whether an old custody mark can authorize a later handoff. It is whether the producer will spend a finite physical evidence surface before a broadcast claim turns the wrong object into civic reality.

Storyline beats

Beat 1 - First press

Record the seal ID, W9 original object ID, first-press time, pre-break macro image or impression cast, lender counterseal, and the person who accepted the sealed case. The seal proves only this initial physical state. It does not prove ownership, performer consent, safety, or every later return.

Beat 2 - Break window

The seal is found fractured after the dark change. A runner may have seen the break, preserved fragments, or gone missing. The original and replica become two explicit physical candidates. An absent witness is recorded as absence rather than replaced by a generic custody row.

Beat 3 - Reflow and repress

The fragments were heated, supplemented with new wax, and stamped again. The edge map, thermal bloom, pigment or fiber discontinuity, and repress alignment offset can prove that the camera-ready seal is not the first press.

Beat 4 - Record the upstream incident

The player must first resolve storyteller.rite.prop_table_wax_seal_incident_intake.v1 through record_break_reflow_claim_pressure. The rite accepts exactly four cards in exact slots:

incident_intake_slots:
  prebreak_impression: storyteller.card.prop_table_wax_seal_prebreak_impression.v1
  object_candidates: storyteller.card.prop_table_wax_seal_object_candidates.v1
  on_air_intact_claim: storyteller.card.prop_table_wax_seal_on_air_intact_claim.v1
  break_reflow_chronology: storyteller.card.prop_table_wax_seal_break_reflow_chronology.v1

That option sets prop_table_wax_seal.incident_intake_recorded, prop_table_wax_seal.incident.break_reported, prop_table_wax_seal.incident.reflow_trace_detected, and prop_table_wax_seal.incident.intact_claim_requested. The cards alone set none of those flags.

Beat 5 - Translate incident into review pressure

Only after the intake record exists may storyteller.event.prop_table_wax_seal_break_reflow_pressure.v1 translate the three upstream incident flags into prop_table_wax_seal.break_seen, prop_table_wax_seal.reflow_suspected, and prop_table_wax_seal.intact_claim_pending. The same entry establishes 100 percent remaining seal impression area. Seven review cards in hand cannot substitute for this incident sequence.

Beat 6 - Destructive proof window

An inspector can cut a microflake or cross-section through the seal. The sample may reveal two heat cycles, but it permanently reduces the remaining impression area and can make a later lender comparison, insurance test, or full-break examination impossible. No branch receives perfect proof for free.

Beat 7 - On-air identity pressure

A sponsor editor requests a close-up and the line “the seal was never broken, so this is the original W9 prop.” In Storyteller canon, that line can become more than publicity. If it airs without contradiction, Broadcast Reality may make the replica the official original and push the physical original into counterfeit or recovery-only status.

Beat 8 - Future consumption

Every resolution must carry four distinct surfaces forward:

  • physical seal state;
  • remaining evidence budget;
  • physical original/replica candidates;
  • broadcast, lawful, and archive object identity.

A future prop return, insurer, inspector, archive, sponsor route, or continuity hearing must consume those states rather than a generic “custody cleared” flag.

Seven branch families

  1. freeze_fracture_chronology_off_air
  2. take_destructive_reflow_cross_section
  3. recover_original_through_break_witness
  4. borrow_lender_counterseal_comparison
  5. air_authorized_replica_disclosure
  6. air_dual_identity_break_notice
  7. air_false_intact_seal_default

Their exact runtime outputs are:

branch_outputs:
  freeze_fracture_chronology_off_air: [reflowed_repressed, unbroadcast_contestable, wax_seal_identity_unbroadcast_contestable, 100_percent]
  take_destructive_reflow_cross_section: [partially_sampled, unbroadcast_contestable, wax_seal_two_heat_cycles_verified, 95_percent]
  recover_original_through_break_witness: [reflowed_repressed, unbroadcast_contestable, wax_seal_original_recovered_break_scar_visible, 100_percent]
  borrow_lender_counterseal_comparison: [reflowed_repressed, unbroadcast_contestable, wax_seal_lender_comparison_required, 100_percent]
  air_authorized_replica_disclosure: [reflowed_repressed, aired_replica_disclosed, wax_seal_replica_route_disclosed, 100_percent]
  air_dual_identity_break_notice: [reflowed_repressed, split_identity, wax_seal_contradiction_required, 100_percent]
  air_false_intact_seal_default: [reflowed_repressed, false_identity_hardened_pending, false_seal_afteruse_default_pending, 100_percent]

The tuple order is physical seal state, broadcast object identity, future effect, and remaining impression area. The first six branches preserve different combinations of proof, object identity, schedule, worker safety, and public continuity. The seventh arms False Seal Afteruse Default after the intact-seal claim airs.

Non-overlap boundary

This storyline does not duplicate:

  • prop-table label or tape-label handoff scope, show-bible version, or generic runner bridge;
  • prop-room key access, checkout-tag return authority, or holder permission;
  • stage-manager pencil, cue caller, or margin-note authority;
  • recruitment, capture, hostility, missability, or other person-state;
  • a generic custody-authority ledger.

Its irreducible mechanism is physical evidence depletion multiplied by broadcast object-identity hardening. If no sample is consumed or preserved, and no broadcast identity changes, this storyline has not resolved.
